Six Pack Body Toolbox
Everything You Need To Help You Achieve Your Goal
Achieving a six pack body takes a lot of hard work. There are many resources available to make the process a little easier. From increasing your knowledge through reading quality books from the experts, to the using various ab equipment that speeds your development.
- EVERYTHING on this page I recommend and believe in 100%.
- I would NEVER recommend a product I didn’t personally believe in.
- Nearly all of them I own myself and use in my personal training practice.
Your Diet: Key To A Six Pack Body
Your body fat must be low enough (<10%) for your abs to show. If you’re diet isn’t right, you have no chance of getting a six pack. No amount of ab training can overcome bad eating habits. I like the Abs Diet because it’s sensible, not extreme, and it works. With every diet you should ask yourself, could I eat this way the rest of my life? If the answer is no, you should move on. You could follow the Abs Diet forever and be lean and satisfied.
Men's Health and Women's Health magazines are two great resources that everyone should be reading. Their diet books are of equally high quality.
The Ab Wheel: A Must Have For Flat Abs And A Six Pack
If I had to pick only one piece of ab equipment, it would be one of the versions of the ab wheel. I use one at least twice a week. They are a highly effective core strengthener. You can control the intensity by how far you roll out each time. You can see how to use the ab wheel properly HERE.
The power wheel has the added benefit of being able to attach to your feet. That opens up a whole other group of core exercises. You could use a power wheel and ab wheel together to do the Jack-knife exercise which will really blast your core muscles.
Do You Know What You’re Eating?
The Eat This, Not That series of books creates multiple jaw dropping moments when reading them. It’s what happens when you discover the calorie amounts of certain foods you may have been eating. It can be stunning. It certainly helps explain the obesity problem in America.
Part of learning to eat right is knowing the caloric cost of the foods you’re eating. The Eat This, Not That books can be a jarring wake up call for your nutritional education, but at least they’re fun to read. Ninety percent of weight loss is diet related. No matter how much you exercise, if your diet isn't right, you won't lose the weight.
A stability ball is a must have for proper core training. There is a wide variety of ab and core exercises that you can do using a stability ball. You can do crunches, crossover crunches, knee rolls, and the plank. Learn how to do some of them with the Beginner Exercise Ball Workout.
Adding in a medicine ball presents multiple ways to add resistance to your ab and core exercises. Resistance will help you build muscle and tone your ab muscles at a faster rate.

Train Like the Russian Special Forces
There’s a reason the Russians kicked our asses in the strength events in the Olympics for all those years. Yes, steroids was one reason, but they also had more advanced training techniques. Pavel Tsatsouline used to train Russian Special Forces. He shares his expertise of Russian training techniques in a series of books. Broaden your training knowledge with some Russian training wisdom.
Keeping Variety in Your Workouts
The Big Book of Exercises for both Men and Women contain over 600 exercises along with hundreds of workouts, and nutritional secrets. They’re a great reference source of ideas for ways to change your workouts, which is the key to getting great results. If you're using the same exercises over and over, you will stunt your progress. I use these books frequently. The exercises are all scientifically sound and easy to learn. It's a great resource to put the necessary variety into your workouts to get the results you're hoping for.
